Opening of the Visa Application Centre in Tehran

To better welcome the public and reduce waiting times, the Embassy of Portugal in Tehran will outsource the collection of Schengen visa applications to VFS Global, at the Portuguese Visa Center.
Therefore, applicants wishing to submit Schengen Visa requests and book appointments for that purpose shall approach the Portuguese Visa Center from the 1st of August onwards through the email address appointmentportugal@vfshelpline.com. The telephone number  +98 218 280 2765 will also be available from the 5th of August, as well as the website www.vfsglobal.com/portugal/Iran on the same date.
Queries or requests submitted before the 1st of August will not be considered. Up to that date, the appointment booking system has been suspended.
Study and residence visas will not be outsourced to the Visa Centre though. The respective appointment requests for that purpose shall be submitted after the 21st of August, by email, to sconsular.teerao@mne.pt . The reference of the email shall be “study and residence visas” and its content shall include the full name, personal email address, scanned copy of the front page of the passport and a brief explanation in English of the purpose of the visa. Requests will not be considered without that information.
Up to the 21st of August, the appointment booking system has been suspended.
